Who's Laughing Now, Josh? E-mail

The Steelers haven't allowed an offensive TD not in garbage time through three games.

The Bucs picked Chuck Batch's first pass of the day off at our own 31, ran 62 plays and had the ball for 33 minutes today, and yet, barely mustered 13 points.

Conversely, Rashard Mendenhall flexed his nuts for 143 yards and a touchdown today, while Chaz Batch went 12/17 for 186 yards and 3 TDs (despite 2 INTs), and the Steelers exploded for 38 points (31 offensive points, almost surpassing their total of 34 offensive points through the first two games).

Everyone is going to suck on Chuck's dick after this performance, since after all, he played out of his 55-year-old mind.

And I love it.

Don't get me wrong, I love Chuck Batch and I'm happy that he ripped it up in his first start in three years, but two of his three TD passes were underthrown and should have been intercepted.

On the other, Hines was wide open in the end zone.

Basically - this was supposed to be the Steelers "easiest" game out of the first four, and surprise surprise, it was [so far].

Unfortunately, the Browns couldn't pull one out of their asses against the Ravens, despite Peyton Hillis' 144 yard performance.

And so, we come home 3-0, to face the 2-1 Ravens at Heinz Field.

Though, you'd never have known today wasn't a home game...

If you had asked me three weeks ago if I thought the Steelers would come into next week undefeated, I'd have literally smacked you in the mouth.

So this, frankly, is a gift.

    Charlie Batch, what a guy.

Offense - Mendenhall = 19/143 yds, or 7.something yards a carry. That tells you something about our line. 000000000000 Sacks... that tells you more. Yeah, the Wallace throws were under, but let's face it, no one ever overthrows Mike Wallace.

Defense - Even after Batch's 2 INTs, Bucs still did Jack.. couldn't even do him sometimes. Bucs collectively got 75 yds rushing and a rumblin', stumblin' INT from the Diesel... also the fumble recovery from Clark. Good stuff. Get some.

ST - Reed did his usual thing. Brown got some decent returns. I was kinda surprised that Randle El was fielding punts, but not really, since he did that before. Biggest thing. Sepulveda.. his only punt, a meager 62 yds. Orgasmic. Sepulveda > Josh Miller, Chris Gardocki, Mitch I like Berger(s).

WOO! Ravens next week. Then all comes back to natural order.

I will admit that up to 3 weeks and 1 day ago, I felt the Steelers would be 2-1 at best. Sometimes it can feel good to be wrong.

I was just thrilled to see Batch move the ball down the field and get touchdowns. As much as I wanted Dixon to get his shot in pre-season, today's game made it look like the other guys on the offense trust Charlie more than Dennis.

Great team effort blocking down the field for Brett on that pick-six. So far, the INT count is 2 by safety, 1 by corner, 1 by linebacker, and one by a defensive lineman. They're spreading the ball around and I am loving that balanced defense. :D

Ugh, can we never, ever mention Mitch Berger's name again. The thought of him makes me want to break things.

If this O-line looks as good with Ben back, while our defense continues to rape fools, I like our chances this season...

But will you smack us in the mouth anyways, even if we didn't ask you for a Steelers win-loss prediction?

Glad to see the Steelers quickly wrap up the win against an inferior opponent, unlike last season where we'd play down to their level and let them hang around. Next week will be the real barometer of whether the Steelers are contenders or not.

I originally said 3-1 without Ben; now I'm saying 4-0. Charlie looked very good avoiding the rush, took off on one great run and has plenty of zip on the ball. When will our qb's learn that you can't overthrow Wallace?
